UV吸収剤IV-1084は、チオビスフェノールニッケル塩ヒンダードアミン光安定剤（HALS）であり、光安定剤と酸化防止剤の二重の機能を持っています。270〜330ナノメートルの紫外線を吸収でき、ピーク吸収は303ナノメートルです。他の安定剤、特にUV吸収剤との相乗効果があります。様々な材料をUV放射から効果的に保護できます。紫外線放射によって生成されたフリーラジカルを除去することにより機能し、それらが基材と反応して損傷を引き起こすのを防ぎます。
