Imported anti-aging stabilizer HS-B19

Description

Description

Riquit® HS-B19 is a non-oligomeric high-molecular-weight hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS). It delivers remarkable improvement in the long-term light aging resistance of resins. HS-B19 also functions as an effective antioxidant; as a primary antioxidant, it can significantly enhance the long-term thermal stability of resins. Compared with conventional hindered amine light stabilizers, HS-B19 is a new third-generation HALS. It greatly reduces interactions with acidic chemicals (sulfur-, chlorine-, bromine-containing substances), fillers (carbon black, talc, calcium carbonate, etc.) and organic pigments. It features good compatibility with a wide range of polymers and easy dispersion. It improves the color depth of pigmented articles without impairing their transparency. It works by shielding or absorbing UV energy, quenching singlet oxygen, and decomposing hydroperoxides into inactive substances. These functions suppress or slow down photochemical reactions in polymers under UV irradiation, inhibiting or delaying photoaging and extending the service life of polymer products.

Thanks to its special macromolecular structure, it is especially suitable for applications requiring low migration, low volatility and blooming resistance, such as films, fibers, articles for long-term water contact, solvent-extraction-resistant products, low-VOC articles and coatings.

Its unique structure endows HS-B19 with high efficiency and the following properties: ● Excellent compatibility with many types of polymers ● Low volatility and minimal migration ● High extraction resistance ● High thermal stability; resistant to decomposition and volatilization even at elevated temperatures ● Strong antioxidant activity, contributing outstanding long-term thermal stability to polymers ● Good compatibility and synergistic performance with a broad range of additives used in polymer formulations ● Excellent gas-fading resistance

A distinctive advantage of HS-B19 over other HALS is its ability to boost color development in pigmented polyolefins. HS-B19 generally does not affect the color or transparency of finished articles.

The dosage of HS-B19 depends on polymer type, required service life, part thickness and formulation system. HS-B19 can be used alone or blended with other stabilizers. Synergistic effects can be achieved when combined with other light stabilizers. It can be added directly or pre-compounded into masterbatch.

Application

Suitable for the following materials: • Polyolefins (PE, PP, olefin copolymers) • Filled polypropylene • Blends of olefins with EVA, EAA, EVOH, EPDM, EPR, ERR • Blends of polypropylene and elastomers (SBS, SIS, SEBS, etc.) • Styrenic resins (ABS, ASA, SAN, AES, SMA, etc.) • Polyamides (PA6, PA66, PA11, PA12) • Polyurethane • Polyacetal (homopolymer and copolymer) • Polyesters (PBT, PET) • PMMA • Vinyl chloride polymers (flexible & rigid PVC, PVDC, CPVC, vinyl chloride‑vinyl acetate copolymers, etc.) • Adhesives, hot‑melt adhesives • Powder coatings

Typical applications: • Fibers, films and flat yarns (PP, PE, PA, PET) Turf yarn, greenhouse film, forage film, geomembrane, polypropylene fiber, polyamide fiber, polyester fiber, polyester film • Filled PP compounds and TPO • Automotive-grade compounds • Halogen-containing flame-retardant compounds (ABS, PP, PE) • Nonwovens and tarpaulins • Powder coatings

Recommended dosage: approximately 0.2–0.6%, subject to the required performance of the polymer and finished components. Long-term stability is generally achieved at 0.5–0.6%. A dosage of 0.2–0.4% is commonly used for basic stabilization. For incorporation into polymer melts, twin-screw extrusion is preferred to achieve optimal dispersion.
