Description

Riquit® Imported Light Stabilizer HX-245T is a phenolic primary antioxidant. It protects organic substrates from thermal oxidative degradation during manufacturing, processing and end use.

HX-245T works well for styrenic polymers, especially impact-modified polystyrene, ABS, MBS, SB and styrene-butadiene rubber, as well as homopolymer and copolymer polyoxymethylene. It is also highly suitable for stabilizing polyurethane, polyamide, thermoplastic polyester, polyvinyl chloride and other polymers. Besides providing thermal stability to finished polymers, it can act as a chain terminator during PVC polymerization.

HX-245T can be combined with other additives, including secondary stabilizers (thioesters, phosphites, phosphonites, etc.), light stabilizers and other functional stabilizers. The synergistic effect is particularly remarkable when used together with Antioxidant 168.

Application

Recommended dosage: 0.05%–1.0%, subject to the polymer grade and target performance of finished parts. Twin-screw extrusion is preferred for incorporation into polymer melts to achieve optimal dispersion.
