Description

UV Absorber UV-3638 is a benzoxazinone UV absorber. It absorbs ultraviolet rays from 280–400 nm with an absorption peak at 349 nm. Its absorption range covers UVA and UVB, and its UV absorption efficiency is several times that of conventional UV absorbers. The temperature of 10% thermal weight loss reaches up to 371°C. It features high temperature resistance, extraction resistance, low volatility, low migration, wide absorption range and high absorption efficiency. It also blocks short-wave blue light and slows down physical property degradation.

Application Performance & Features

UV-3638 fully absorbs UV rays at 380 nm. It shows excellent absorption for UVB and UVC. With high molecular weight, low volatility and no color contamination, it is suitable for optical industries with strict requirements on light transmittance and color, such as PET and PC optical lenses, light diffusion plates for backlit LCD devices.

UV-3638 is an excellent thermal stabilizer with TGA (10% weight loss) above 371°C. It is suitable for thermoplastic polyesters, polyamides and national defense applications that require high processing temperature and UV protection.

UV-3638 works well for PET packaging materials. It has good compatibility with PET, does not take part in PET polyester polymerization reactions, and resists high temperature, high pressure, acid and alkali.

It requires low dosage and will not decompose, bloom or migrate during processing and storage.

5. Especially suitable for PET food packaging materials (olive oil bottles, ketchup containers, cosmetics packaging, etc.), protecting active ingredients such as vitamins inside from UV degradation

Usage Method

UV-3638 is added at 0.1%–0.3% (100–300 grams per 100 kg of polymer raw materials). Mix it thoroughly with polymer feedstock before molding and processing.
